Christian Dating Relationship
Christians, your opinions on a dating relationship?
I know about dating only Christians and purity, but what do you think is ok and not (such as kissing, etc.)? Also, when do you think is okay to start dating? Any other opinions?
Please note: I have no intentions of dating, I am just finding out. Thank you for answering.
Jesus’s great commandment applies as much, if not more, to a dating relationship:
Love God with all your heart, and love your neighbour as yourself.
I go further. You should be prepared to wash the feet of the person you are dating, and to be his or her servant. You should know and understand love, and that the relationship you are engaging in is not for either of you, but is for God and comes from God and can be taken away by God.
The actual things you are prepared to do then fall into place. If the kissing is an expression of your Love for one another, particularly of the other person, rather than yourself; if this Love can then grow and inspire those around you to Love; if you are prepared for all the consequences of this kiss, that they (especially any children) can too be brought into this spirit of Love; then it is a wonderful thing.
With that understanding, I find that lust and self-gratification just wither away to the dust it is. Start dating as soon as you understand what true Love is.
